The City is committed to doing our part to keep travellers and airport employees healthy and is following all guidelines provided by public health officials and Transport Canada. We are implementing a series of new COVID-19 health and safety measures to ensure the public can feel confident when travelling with us.
As of October 30th, 2021, if you are 12 years of age plus 4 months, or older, you’ll need to be fully vaccinated to board domestic or international flights departing from the West Kootenay Regional Airport, including charter and foreign airlines carrying commercial passengers.
From October 30 through November 29, 2021, there will be a short transition period when travellers who do not qualify as fully vaccinated will be able to travel if they can show a valid COVID-19 molecular (PCR) test taken within 72 hours of travel.
Starting November 30, 2021, a negative COVID-19 test will no longer be accepted as an alternative to vaccination. Travellers should make plans now to ensure they are fully vaccinated before November 30 to travel by air.
